Why not combine Spanish Language and Culture with a Spanish Cookery and Wine Tasting Course.

It is not necessary to have an advanced level of Spanish. An interpreter will be present at the Cookery and Wine Tasting course for those who have difficulty with the language.

EXCURSIONS

3 Full day Excursions will be made to the most scenic parts of Cantabria, typical old world villages, fishing ports and the famous Picos de Europa Mountain range. The trip will finish up with a visit to La Rioja wine district. There will be a guided tour of one of the largest bodegas in the area.

SPANISH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE

For those who wish to learn the language, Spanish Langauge classes are available on request. They are offered in the mornings for 2-3 hours. The emphasis is class is on student participation. The course includes work on conversation , comprehension grammar and written skills. Situational dialogues and task based activities are widely used. Students with a more advanced level can study Spanish Culture and Civilization.

ACCOMMODATION

For this programme students will be accommodated in apartments which are beside the cookery school in the beach area of town. All apartments have a balcony with a view of the sea.

For those who want an upgrade, accommodation can be arranged in a five star hotel which is also very close to the cookery school.
Family accommodation can also be arranged in the city centre.

Excursion to Comillas, San Vicente de la Barquera (Shellfish lunch in typical fishing village on the coast.
Afternoon in Picos de Euopa.

Walking tour of the city
Cooking class in first class restaurant

Visit to local markets
Visit Puente Viesgo caves

Day 5 Wednesday
Cooking class with wine tasting
Vist Santillana del Mar -medieval village

Day 6 Thursday
Cooking class with wine tasting
Farewell Cooking lesson.

Day 7 Friday.
Full day excursion to la Rioja. Visit one of the largest Bodegas in the area and one of its most typical restaurants.
Wine tasting class in the evening served with tapas.
